UltraSAFE automatic formalin dispensing system
Formalin is considered carcinogenic and detrimental to human health. It is classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as a Group 1 agent (carcinogenic to humans) .
Occupational exposure occurs primarily by inhaling formaldehyde gas or vapor from the air or by absorbing liquids containing formaldehyde through the skin.
The Solution
UltraSAFE is an innovative technology which allows operators in surgery rooms to handle pathology specimens in complete safety, avoiding exposure to fixative fumes.
Different sized buckets are automatically filled with formalin in the “Dirty Room”, which preserve the biospecimen in fixative right after the surgical excision. This allows for total operator safety, assuring a formalin-free OR environment.
