UltraSAFE automatic formalin dispensing system

Formalin is considered carcinogenic and detrimental to human health. It is classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as a Group 1 agent (carcinogenic to humans) .

Occupational exposure occurs primarily by inhaling formaldehyde gas or vapor from the air or by absorbing liquids containing formaldehyde through the skin.

The Solution

UltraSAFE is an innovative technology which allows operators in surgery rooms to handle pathology specimens in complete safety, avoiding exposure to fixative fumes.

Different sized buckets are automatically filled with formalin in the “Dirty Room”, which preserve the biospecimen in fixative right after the surgical excision. This allows for total operator safety, assuring a formalin-free OR environment.

Why UltraSAFE?

  • Fully automated and enclosed operation which prevents exposure to carcinogenic formalin fumes. Utilizes dedicated buckets equipped with a non-return valve, avoiding formalin and fumes exposure.

Standardisation and Quality

  • Guarantees sample integrity, as always dispenses the right amount of formalin according to the specimen weight for standardized formalin/specimen ratios.

Full Automated Operations

  • Easy to use touch screen. Procedure as usual, but with no concern of formalin exposure.

Fast Operation

  • I.e. 1L of fixative dispensed in 20 seconds.

Antimicrobial Protection

  • UltraSAFE is painted with antimicrobial powder coating, to provide protection against the proliferation of microbes.
